Responsibilities
Who answers for what
Handing over operations does not mean handing over control.
| Who answers for what | Yours | Ours |
|---|---|---|
| Application | You decide what it has to do, and choose the size and service level. | We set it up, keep it current and monitor it. Fixes go in during the maintenance window, new minor and major versions only with your consent. |
| Backups | You choose the point to restore and check the data afterwards. | We back up at your service level's cadence into a storage area assigned to your organisation alone, observe every backup and test the restore. |
| Data | Your data, in open formats, exportable at any time. | Separated environments, documented access, an export in the native format when you leave. |
| Changes | You tell us what is needed. | We tell you the effort before it is spent. |
| Incidents | You write to a person. | We monitor the app, and that person writes back within your service level's response time. |
Operating modes
Who operates what
Every project in your account belongs to one of these four operating modes. The service description sets out what we commit to for each.
Managed App
An app from our catalogue that we run for you, in the size you choose. You order it in the portal or through gh0stcli. The catalogue currently includes: Email (Stalwart), Files and collaboration, Shared notes, Project management, Tasks, Design and prototyping, Company wiki, Customer relationships (CRM), Time tracking, Web analytics, Share notes securely, Central sign-in, Password manager (Vaultwarden), Push notifications, Status pages and monitoring, MariaDB, and PostgreSQL. Vaultwarden is an independent project and not affiliated with Bitwarden, Inc. We offer each package only once we have released it.
Custom operated by gh0stservice
Your own line-of-business application, or any other app without a catalogue package. We write the scope into an order form, with a one-off setup at a fixed price. The service levels and commitments are the same as for a Managed App.
Platform extension
gh0steye for monitoring and gh0stforge for Git, CI and a registry. We run them as part of the platform under the platform terms, back up their data daily and keep the backups for 14 days. We charge only for usage. There is no service level for them.
Operated by you
Everything your team runs itself from its own Git repository. For these projects, you back up the data yourself as well.
How it starts
Four steps, no surprises
A conversation
Twenty to thirty minutes about what runs today and what is wrong with it.
An honest read
A clear answer on whether we fit, including the cases where we do not.
A proposal
An order confirmation or order form with the service level, schedule and cost, before anything is migrated.
Handover and operations
Migration, then handover once we have observed successful backups and carried out a restore. From the handover day your service level applies, and from then on we charge the service fee.
Talk to me directly.
I have these conversations myself. Afterwards you will know whether it fits, including when the answer is no.
Base fee, service fee and resource costs are shown separately. Additional work is agreed before it is done.
